Short Take: Chase to present bills online

Chase Manhattan Bank and CheckFree say Chase intends to present bills online to consumers and businesses early next year. The new service, free to consumers, will use CheckFree's online bill presentment system and Chase's online banking and commercial services. Chase, which claims to be the first U.S. bank to present bills online, initially will let its credit card and mortgage customers pay online.
