Short Take: Atomic Pop and Microsoft in Net music alliance

Atomic Pop, which distributes music and other entertainment content online, said it will make its entire catalog available in Microsoft's Windows Media format. Atomic Pop has thousands of tracks by artists such as Public Enemy, Ice T and the Pixies. In exchange for supporting Microsoft, which is battling RealNetworks for market share, Atomic Pop will be supported across MSN's services; Microsoft also will sponsor live shows and highlight Atomic Pop's artists.
