PlanetOut received a $3 million investment from Sequoia Capital and America Online to staff and market the site geared toward the interests of the gay and lesbian community. PlanetOut has purchased Queer Infoservers, a gay Internet directory, and has licensed the electronic rights to "The Ultimate Guide to Lesbian & Gay Film and Video."
