News junkies can now get an additional fix on the Web. PBS and MacNeil/Lehrer Productions today debuted the Online NewsHour.

Accessible at the PBS site, the Online NewsHour will feature editorial material from the daily broadcast of The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, along with original content. Much of that original content will be derived from daily interactive chat sessions with newsmakers. Scheduled newsmakers and commentators include Norman Ornstein and James Fishkin.

Site visitors will be able to post questions for scheduled guests to spark discussions.

The site will also feature essays from NewsHour journalists, and RealAudio recordings of NewsHour broadcast segments.
