Now TV now brings Sky movies and TV to Apple TV

"Boardwalk Empire" and "American Hustle" are among the Sky highlights available on your telly without a dish.

Sky/Now TV

Now TV's TV is now on Apple TV. You can watch Sky television and movie channels on your Apple TV from today with the debut of Now TV Entertainment Month Pass and Sky Movies Month Pass for Apple's media streaming box.

Now TV is Sky's online streaming service bringing Sky channels and shows to those of us who don't have a dish. You don't need to have a Sky subscription to get involved; just sign up to the online service to enjoy Sky movies, sports or TV shows. Sports, movies and TV each require a separate subscription, but there's no long-term contract.

The TV package -- called the Entertainment Pass -- currently costs £5, but goes up to £7 on 16 October. The sports package costs £10 for 24 hours, so it's better value for a long event such as a Formula 1 race or a day of cricket than it is for, say, a specific footie match (unless you get the boys round and have a whip-round).

The films and TV shows on offer change regularly, but the entertainment package currently includes the whole of "Boardwalk Empire", "The Walking Dead" and "Mad Men", as well as new episodes of "Ray Donovan" and "Legends" (which inexplicably stars Sean Bean as Sheffield's top FBI agent). With Sky's grip on new movie releases, the £10 movies package currently includes recent hits you won't find on Netflix like "Thor: The Dark World", "Philomena" and "American Hustle".

The Sky Movies monthly pass, Entertainment monthly pass and Sky Sports day pass start as soon as you pay for them and are billed directly to your iTunes account.

Now TV is also available on over 50 devices including the iPad, iPhone, Android devices and various games consoles.
