Users of CE Software's WebArranger software will soon be able to hack off large chunks of Net data and bring it down to their desktops for offline browsing.

Through a bundling deal with ForeFront Group, users will have access to that company's WebWhacker product. WebWhacker lets users download Web data and read it offline. A shipping date for the bundle will be announced next month, officials said.

As WebWhacker lops off Web documents for offline browsing, it creates a local map that links the documents in the precise order as they were on the Net, officials said. CE Software's WebArranger works in conjunction with existing browsers to alert users whenever new data has been added to certain Web pages. The software uses agent technology to track changes and alert users.
