Netflix and Ubisoft to say 'game on'?

The two companies are discussing the possibility of a series based on an Ubisoft game that would stream on Netflix, according to Reuters.

Rumors have swirled that Ubisoft may continue to expand beyond video games According to a report Monday from Reuters, streaming-video giant Netflix and the video-game maker have been talking about creating a TV series.

Also on Monday, a featurette for the "Assassin's Creed" movie was released. The film, based on Ubisoft's video game series, is set to hit theaters on December 21.

The Reuters report also noted that Vivendi, a 20 percent shareholder in Ubisoft, has been silent after making acquisition waves before and during the Ubisoft shareholders meeting in September.

Netflix and Ubisoft did not immediately return requests for comment.
