Net radio heads to home devices

NetRadio, which transmits audio programs online, and entertainment service provider OpenGlobe have inked a deal to broadcast Internet radio to home entertainment devices. Under the deal, the companies said NetRadio's channels will be streamed on Compaq Computer's iPAQ Music Center, Kenwood Sovereign Entre and others. Indianapolis-based OpenGlobe works with consumer electronics and personal computer manufacturers, such as Compaq and Kenwood, in providing home entertainment products. Last week, OpenGlobe announced it raised $14.9 million in its first round of funding with investments from LazardFreres & Co., Lazard Venture Advisors, Baystar Capital, Texas Instruments and private investors.
