nCube advances video-on-demand software

nCube, a video-on-demand technology provider, said Tuesday that it has introduced a system to help cable operators manage content rights and distribution for their growing libraries of on-demand offerings. The Portland, Ore.-based company sells technology that allows cable operators, including AT&T Broadband and Comcast, to provide TV services such as video on demand, subscription video on demand, and networked personal video recording much like TiVo.

Its latest advance is Nable Media Management System, a content management application to be introduced next week at the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing Summit. The application includes tools to market and report on video-on-demand usage, as well as manage billing and royalty payments to content owners.
