Liquid Audio hires new CFO

Online music software and services company Liquid Audio says it appointed Michael Bolcerek as its chief financial officer and senior vice president of finance. The Redwood City, Calif.-based company said Bolcerek is replacing Gary Iwatani, who left last year to join person-to-person advice site Keen.com as its CFO. Liquid Audio said Bolcerek would be responsible for strategic and financial planning, financial reporting, and investor relations. Bolcerek has held other senior financial and operational positions at companies such as MongoMusic (recently acquired by Microsoft), Oracle, Nokia and Hyundai. The hire comes just months after Liquid Audio added four vice presidents and a senior director to its staff. The company is scheduled to announce first-quarter earnings May 10.
