Is Apple Music nixing its Connect tab?

The feature that lets musicians chat and share exclusive content directly with fans is reportedly getting downgraded in Apple's next iOS upgrade.

Apple Music's Connect feature will reportedly have a less prominent spot in iOS 10.

Connect will lose its dedicated tab and is getting relegated to the "For You" recommendations page in Apple's next mobile OS upgrade, according to a report by 9to5 Mac.

The idea behind Connect, launched in 2015, is to allow musicians to chat directly with fans and share one-of-a-kind video or audio snippets that don't appear anywhere else.

Apple didn't immediately respond to a request to comment, but we'll likely learn more at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference on June 13.
