InterTrust to limit copying from set-tops

InterTrust Technologies, which makes software that protects songs and videos from being illegally copied, has teamed with Pace Micro Technologies to create set-top boxes bundled with digital rights management. Santa Clara, Calif.-based InterTrust said Pace will join its Rights/Alliance Program, which brings together software and hardware technologies to help Internet service providers distribute digital content. InterTrust also announced that Envivio, a company that delivers streamed media content, has joined the Rights/Alliance Program. The alliance also includes Sun Microsystems, Artesia Technologies, nCube, Portal Software and SkyStream Networks.
