Google Chrome now supports Retina displays

Version 21 of the web browser now officially supports the MacBook Pro Retina display, bringing crisp rendering to the platform.

Version 21 of the web browser now officially supports the MacBook Pro Retina display, bringing crisp rendering to the platform.

It joins the slowly swelling ranks of Retina-compatible apps that have been tweaked to take advantage of the huge resolution on offer.

Also hitting the stable build this time around are 15 security vulnerability fixes and a new API for access to your camera and microphone without plug-ins, the latter having the potential to do some funky things with HTML 5. Google Cloud Print has also received some love, with your available cloud printers now integrated into Chrome's standard Print dialog.

Perhaps the addition with the most potential is the Gamepad JavaScript API, which allows developers to easily access standard gamepads plugged in to a machine through the browser.
