Enterprise software developer Extended Systems on Tuesday said it appointed Charles Jepson as its new chief executive and president replacing Steve Simpson, effective immediately. Jepson formerly was vice president of worldwide sales and marketing at Extended Systems and was on the company's board of directors from September 2001 to July 2003. Simpson is leaving the company to pursue other interests.

The Boise, Idaho-based company creates software that allows employees to wirelessly access corporate data. Extended Systems also announced the appointment of two new members to its board, Jim Bean, chief executive of Preco Electronics, and Jody B. Olson, from law firm Hawley Troxell Ennis & Hawley.
