E3 2018: Control trailer is full of mind-bending, supernatural madness

Remedy Entertainment's new IP is a little Alan Wake, a little Quantum Break and all about throwing things with your mind.

Remedy Entertainment, the team behind classic sci-fi horror Alan Wakeand time-bending Quantum Break ,just showcased its latest game during Sony's E3 press conference. It's called Control and it's a "third person supernatural action-adventure."

The trailer showed an unnamed female protagonist using telekinetic powers, levitation and throwing a truckload of crates at bad guys. No really, a lot of crates.

It looks super slick, with a black and white aesthetic that gave me distinct Alan Wake vibes. It feels like Remedy is taking everything it has learnt since Max Payne and throwing it all together -- and there's nothing wrong with that pitch.

The trailer gives us a brief glimpse of what Remedy has in store and the game's website reveals a little more.

"Control is Jesse Fadens's story. The main plot focuses on her personal search for answers as she grows into the role of the Director. The world of Control has its own story, as do the allies Jesse meets along the way."

Although shown off during Sony's E3 conference, creative director at Remedy Entertainment, Sam Lake, later confirmed that the game won't be exclusive to the Playstation 4. 

You can expect to find it on both Xbox One and Steam, but exactly when it releases remains a mystery -- for now.
