Digital Fountain raises $20 million

Digital Fountain, which delivers data and media files over IP (Internet protocol) networks, says it has raised $20 million in its latest round of funding, bringing its total round of financing to $47.5 million. The Fremont, Calif.-based company said its fourth round of financing included investments from Macrovision, British Telecom, Spinnaker Ventures, NRI, Sony, Cisco Systems, Matrix Partners, Granite Ventures, Adobe Systems and Texas Instruments. Digital Fountain said it will use the funds to keep its operations stable. A company representative said it hopes to reach profitability and bring "its market and sales up to speed."
