CollabNet expands into India

Collaborative development tools company CollabNet is acquiring Enlite Networks, a Chennai, India-based software outfit, for an undisclosed amount. The purchase of Enlite will help CollabNet accelerate its product development and improve its customer support and sales organization, said Bill Portelli, CollabNet's CEO.

CollabNet, located in Brisbane, Calif., sells SourceCast, a Web-based collaboration application that allows developers in several locations to work on common projects. CollabNet's softwareis used for different development teams within the same company, as well as for intercompany development projects. CollabNet will gain about 40 people in the acquisition, bringing the company's total employees to about 100.
