Apple polishes networking software

Apple Computer on Wednesday said it has updated a software product that allows administrators to remotely make changes to networked Macintoshes. The company said Apple Remote Desktop 1.2 adds the ability to remotely install software to groups of Macs over a network. It also includes revamped security and other features. Apple has touted the remote desktop software as particularly useful for schools, quoting one education customer in the press release announcing the upgrade.
