App of the Day: Noteshelf

Noteshelf is a versatile notebook app for the iPad that allows you to do pretty much anything — and it's well worth the asking price.

Welcome to CNET Australia's App of the Day, where you can see some of the coolest, silliest and most useful apps in action.

I'm not very organised, so notebooks tend to languish in my bag with a few lonely shopping lists sadly populating the first few pages. An app like Noteshelf, though, has all kinds of usefulness going on. Now, we'll say straight up: a touch interface isn't really the best for fine control; but you're not looking to reproduce a da Vinci ink drawing here.

We're using the Architect Stylus for a bit more precision. You can choose from lots of different paper kinds: plain, ruled, graph, music; and you can use pens, highlighters, smileys or even typing on a keyboard. We also like the bit where you can paste in photos from your camera roll — like a proper scrapbook and everything.
