AP to Launch Online News Service

The Associated Press has announced that it will offer its multimedia news service early next year for free to subscribers until September. Rates have not yet been determined, according to company officials.

The service will include text, photographs, audio, and video of national, international, business, and sports news that AP currently distributes to over 1,500 broadcast and print subscribers.

Next fall, AP will also offer an electronic archive that will allow subscribers to search for stories dating back up to ten years.
