AOL names Kimmitt to global post
Media giant AOL Time Warner named Commerce One's president, Robert M. Kimmitt, to be its executive vice president for global strategic policy, starting July 1. He is succeeding George Vradenburg, who will remain an advisor to AOL Time Warner. Kimmitt will continue as a member of Commerce One's board of directors, and his replacement in the presidency at the business-to-business software company will be its chief operating officer and vice chairman, Dennis H. Jones. At Commerce One, Kimmitt was responsible for the company's global sales, services and business development operations. At AOL Time Warner, he will develop policies for Asia and Europe as well as the United States. Kimmitt also served in a number of positions in the Reagan administration.
