AOL Interactive president to retire

America Online says Jonathan Sacks, president of AOL Interactive Services, will retire to pursue other interests. Sacks will leave AOL when the company finds a replacement, according to an AOL representative. Sacks joined AOL four years ago, serving as senior vice president of programming operations and later senior vice president and general manager of AOL. An AOL representative said Sacks "wanted to move on to the next phase of his life, and he thought this was the right time to do it," adding Sacks has discussed pursuing a Ph.D. in English literature. Sacks has played a variety of roles at the Internet company, including president of the Hub, a joint venture between AOL and New Line Cinema, and founder of VirtualCity Magazine. A longtime journalist and publisher, Sacks published PC Computing and Corporate Computing magazines. He also worked for publications ranging from InfoWorld to The Miami Herald.
