AOL, CNET strike content deal

The largest online service partners with the Internet company for co-branded computer buying guides.

CNET:The Computer Network has struck a deal to provide America Online with co-branded computer buying guides, a high-profile placement for the technology-oriented Internet media company.

Under the terms of the deal, worth $14.5 million over 2-1/2 years, CNET will provide AOL's proprietary service and its other Internet properties with customizable hardware and software buyer guides. CNET also will provide with free software downloads, the company said in a statement.
