Getting free shipping for your Amazon orders just got a little more affordable.

The e-commerce giant has dropped its $35 minimum purchase for free US shipping for non-Prime members to $25 -- the level it was in 2013. Amazon lowered the minimum required for free US shipping from $49 to $35 in February, following competitor Walmart's drop on its website's minimum for free shipping to $35.

Amazon didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. The free shipping offer is for regular, five- to eight-day shipping on items marked "Free Shipping." Amazon's Prime members receive free, two-day shipping on eligible items.

The fee cut to $25 arrived just ahead of Amazon's announcement of its newest Alexa-powered device, the Echo Show, its first smart speaker with a built-in screen.
