Enjoy Earth Day, as it may be our last, according to a new trailer just released for the upcoming sci-fi film "Independence Day: Resurgence." The 20th Century Fox film debuts internationally on June 23 and in the US on June 24 -- but April 22, otherwise known as Earth Day, was a savvy date to drop a new long-form trailer.

In this long-awaited sequel, returning stars Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldblum join newcomers, including Liam Hemsworth, to fight off a second alien invasion. As if to make up for darkening Earth Day, 20th Century Fox said in its YouTube posting of the trailer: "To help us all defend our planet, this weekend the original 'Independence Day' (1996) movie will be available for only $0.99 on Google Play, with all of Fox's net proceeds being donated to Earth Day Network!"
