Keen to get your hands on the Google Nexus 7? Google has launched a sign-up page to register for updates on the new tablet.

"Sign up today", entices the new page, "and we'll give you a heads up when you can get your new Google Nexus 7, on Google Play or at a retailer near you."

The new Nexus 7's UK price and release date were revealed last week by PC World, although Google is yet to confirm the exact details.

The new Android flagship tablet hits Google Play and stores in September. The 16GB Nexus 7 costs £200, and the 32GB version is £240.

That's slightly more expensive than the original Nexus 7, which costs a mere £160 for the 16GB model and just £200 for the 32GB version. For your extra few quid, the new 2013 tablet adds a 5-megapixel camera and eye-popping 1,920x1,200 screen, with Android 4.3 software adding user profiles.

The 7-inch Nexus 7 is on sale in the US now, and is set to arrive next in eight countries including Britain, Germany, France, Spain, Australia and Canada.  There is a sign-up page for India too, suggesting that country will be close behind.
