The Atlanta, Georgia-based tools company will debut six new intranet administration products throughout the year intended to make it easier to add Web servers to current internal networks.
The tools, called NetEssentials, cover management of content, distribution of applications, and systems management.
The first product, SessionXpress, will be available by the end of March. SessionXpress Basic for eight concurrent sessions will be offered free, while other versions start at $4,995. The product uses push-and-pull software technology to manage hard disks, files, and sessions on corporate desktops.
Other products, which all derive from XcelleNet's RemoteWare technology, include a utility for distributing HTML files to desktops, a tool for distributing applications independent of type, and a browser-based console to allow users to access the NetEssentials utilities.
A utility to route Internet mail messages as well as software to streamline the replication capabilities for networks based on Lotus Development's Notes are also in the works. All of the tools will roll out this year.
