Motorola says it will try to get shipments out soon, and will automatically upgrade them to overnight delivery.
We hear a lot about supply issues prompting tech delays, but Motorola has a new force to deal with: Winter Storm Dion.
Motorola has issued letters to those who have ordered a Moto G, saying its fulfillment center in Fort Worth, Texas, was hit hard by Winter Storm Dion, and it's "still recovering from the storm's impact." The letter, obtained by Engadget, includes an apology from Motorola as it tries to explain why the company's latest handset didn't get out to customers on time.
To make it right, Motorola has said that it will ship orders out as quickly as possible -- the letter on Engadget's site says December 14, though that date varies -- and automatically upgrade all shipments to next-day delivery.
The Moto G scored relatively strong marks from CNET's Reviews team, earning three-and-a-half stars out of five. CNET's Brian Bennett said earlier this month in his review that he was pleased with the Moto G's $179 starting price, but was disappointed with its slow processor and lack of LTE.
