Welcome to The 3:59, CNET's new daily podcast.

We'll be breaking down the top tech news of the day, with a liberal sprinkling of attitude, analysis and awkwardness.

The 3:59 will deliver four-minute bites of news and context on Monday through Thursday every week.

I'll be one of your co-hosts, and while I generally focus on the mobile area, we'll be riffing on a wide variety of topics. Joining me in New York is Ben Fox Rubin, a senior writer who covers e-commerce. If they keep letting us record these podcasts, we promise to have fellow CNETers join in and share their expertise.

On the inaugural taping of the 3:59, we'll be talking about the hype of 5G fresh off of my trip to Barcelona, Spain, for Mobile World Congress. Then we'll dive into the RSA Security conference and smart toys and how the age of connected everything freaks us out as parents. Lastly, we weigh in on Microsoft's HoloLens, which goes on sale on March 30 for $3,000. Ouch.

The 3:59 gives you bite-sized news and analysis about the top stories of the day, brought to you by CNET executive editor Roger Cheng and CNET senior writer Ben Fox Rubin.
