With carriers marrying faster than Jennifer Lopez after a first date, it's no wonder that cell phone users are worried about too much consolidation. Sure, the merging carriers like to talk about all the benefits to customers, but the bottom line is that fewer carriers result in fewer choices. T-Mobile, which is soon to be the smallest of major carriers, has so far sat out the merger spree. Yet that hasn't stopped a spate of rumors that its parent company, German giant Deutsche Telekom, is shopping for a buyer. Deutsche hasn't confirmed the gossip, but fellow Euro carrier Vodafone felt the need to say this week it has no interest in entering the United States market. According to a Vodafone spokesman, T-Mobile's lack of a 3G network is a deterrent.
