This tip will save Pokemon caught when the game freezes

Don't lose another Pokemon to game glitches in Pokemon Go.

Gotcha! Or did you?

One of the biggest frustrations of Pokemon Go is losing a fresh catch due to the game freezing.

You know what I'm talking about.

You finally find the Pokemon you've been searching for, successfully catch it, but just as the game announces "Gotcha!" the whole thing freezes. When you close out the game and restart it, your new Pokemon is nowhere to be found.

The next time this happens, suppress the urge to throw your phone and take these steps:

  1. As soon as the game freezes, go to your phone's Settings menu or the fast menu (your Control Center, on iOS) and turn on Airplane Mode.
  2. Go back to Pokemon Go and close the game.
  3. Wait until the game says that it has lost its internet connection.
  4. Restart the game.
  5. Turn off Airplane Mode.
  6. Check your bag for your newly captured Pokemon.

Airplane mode can save your Pokemon.
