T-Mobile announces prepaid Android phone, tethering plans
T-Mobile introduces a new Android phone for the prepaid market called the T-Mobile Comet and also reveals pricing for its Wi-Fi and tethering plan.

The T-Mobile Comet is actually a rebranded version of the Huawei Ideos and will be offered as a prepaid option at $200 without contract. You can also get the Android 2.2 device on contract for just $10. Though more of a lower-end smartphone, it features a 528MHz processor, a 2.8-inch touch screen, a 3.2-megapixel camera, and Wi-Fi hot spot and tethering capabilities.
In addition to the Comet, T-Mobile announced pricing for its new data and Tethering and Wi-Fi Sharing plans. In the case of the former, customers will have several options. There's the 200MB plan, which goes for $10 per month with a two-year contract or $15 per month without contract, and the Web Unlimited plan, which goes for $30 per month.
To add tethering capabilities (allows you to use your smartphone as a mobile hot spot), it's an additional $15 per month on top of the $30 Web Unlimited data plan. These plans will be available this holiday season.
