If you needed any more proof that interior design is hot (besides about 50 HGTV and TLC programs devoted to the subject), look no further than Sony's latest addition to the VAIO laptop family.
The just-announced VAIO N series comes in several attractive colors and is, according to Sony, "designed to compliment any home's motif." The most innovative color choice is a shade called Wenge Brown, described by Sony as, "a creamy, coffee color made to resemble wood furniture." Well-suited, perhaps, to go along with that Danish Modern look in your den. Of course there's always white, for that mod Panton or Eames theme, or plain-old black--good for using while lounging in your Mies van der Rohe Barcelona Chair.
As for the laptops themselves, scant details are available just yet, other than the promise of Intel Core Duo CPUs, a 15.4-inch wide-screen display, built-in 802.11 a/b/g, and a street price of around $1,000. Preorders should begin any minute now, and the systems will ship in early October.
