As promised, Sprint and its partner Clearwire turned on 4G service in all five boroughs of New York City on Monday, as well as five other markets: Tampa, Fla., Trenton and New Brunswick, N.J., and Hartford and New Haven, Conn.
Now, owners of 4G devices, such as the
Los Angeles is the next city scheduled to get 4G service starting on December 1, followed by San Francisco in late December. Sprint also plans to bring 4G to other markets by the end of the year, including Miami, Denver, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Washington, D.C., and to expand its WiMax footprint to 62 cities.
