Spotify and Logitech Squeezebox squeeze in together

It's a good day for Swedish music. Not only do Roxette have a new single out -- it's called She's Got Nothing On But the Radio -- but Spotify has a new main squeeze. The popular social music service is now available on Logitech Squeezebox streaming hardware, including the Squeezebox Touch and Squeezebox Radio.

Spotify joins assorted radio stations, the BBC, Facebook,, Napster and more in the Squeezebox app. To get involved, you'll need to grab the Spotify app from the App Gallery. An unofficial plugin has been around since last summer, but this is the official version. It's currently in beta, but a proper launch is expected "in the very near future".

You'll also need a Spotify Premium account, which costs £10 per month. That nets you higher bit-rate music at CD-quality 320kbps, as well as frequent exclusive tracks and that all-important offline and mobile access on your iPhone or Android phone. It isn't available on the PC-only £5 per month option.

Not so long ago we described Squeezebox as the world's best audio streamers, bar none. Since then, there's been some stiff competition from Sonos, which teamed up with Spotify late last year. The Sonos ZonePlayer S5 and Wireless Dock both earned prestijus CNET UK Editors' Choice awards.

The Logitech Squeezebox Touch costs around £200, and the Squeezebox Radio around £120. All together now: "She's got nothing on but the radio (Radio!) / It's a passion play / And like the break of day / She takes my breath away!" Ah Roxette, we have missed you.
