SmartPipes to name new CEO

SmartPipes, which manages network services for its customers, will name a new chief executive Monday. Hank Nothhaft, who most recently served as vice chairman at XO Communications and as CEO of Concentric Network prior to that, will replace Ray Bell as SmartPipes' CEO. Bell will remain as chairman of the board of directors and will become chief technology officer. Based in Redwood City, Calif., the privately held SmartPipes employs 210 workers and received funding from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.
