Yipes, a privately held Internet Protocol-based network provider, has launched a high-speed Internet access service for businesses. Yipes, which claims funding from Norwest Venture Partners and New Enterprise Associates, connects corporate local area networks (LANs) directly to fiber-optic Internet connections at speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second. Yipes says its direct Ethernet-based technology allows for higher speed access.
