Short Take: Williams, Metromedia Fiber sign partnership

Williams Communications and Metromedia Fiber Network have signed a 20-year agreement giving Williams access to MFN's metropolitan networks in 11 large U.S. cities and allowing MFN to use Williams' fiber-optic backbone network. The value of the deal is expected to total more than $230 million to each company.
