Short Take: U.S. Robotics, Net2Phone create modem for Net phone calls

Modem maker U.S. Robotics and Internet telephony company Net2Phone today announced the U.S. Robotics 56K Internet Call Modem developed by both companies. The modem allows Voice over Internet Protocol ("VoIP") calling and sophisticated call management capabilities. The modem connects to a telephone, and callers can dial their Internet calls directly on the phone's keypad when online using Net2Phone's software, which comes with the modem. Calls made using Net2Phone's Internet telephony network within the U.S. and Canada are free.
