Short Take: Sylantro gets $55 million in funding

Sylantro Systems, a maker of communications software, has received $55 million in third-round funding. The round was led by Bowman Capital and included Bank of America, JP Morgan, The CIT Group, Pyramid Technology Ventures and Stanford University. Sylantro's initial investors included Mayfield Fund. The company's software allows carriers to offer a variety of voice and data applications, and routes calls without using expensive traditional communications hardware.
