Sun Microsystems won three big customers for its JavaStation network computers. Sabre, a provider of travel-related services, will use JavaStations in its upcoming Qik-2 reservations product. ScottishTelecom ordered 100 JavaStations for its call-center operation, which currently uses PCs. The County of Santa Clara, California, ordered 150 JavaStations for its GAIN social services program, replacing Bull dumb terminals. Each cited lower maintenance costs as a major reason for choosing the JavaStations.
