Short Take: Rhythms announces consumer DSL plans

Rhythms NetConnections, a digital subscriber line (DSL) provider, announced a new strategy to target consumers with its high-speed Net access technology. Until now, Rhythms primarily targeted small and mid-size businesses with DSL. The company will begin a $50 million advertising campaign to help gain brand recognition. The service, which will range in price from about $40 to $50 per month, is expected to be available to 45 percent of U.S. consumers by the end of 2000.
