Short Take: Qwest to aid in Internet2 project

Qwest Communications will provide the backbone for a high-speed, advanced application network dubbed CalREN-2 that is being built by the Corporation for Education Network Initiatives in California. CalREN-2 will link more than a dozen private and public universities, and will launch in June. CalREN-2 is a part of the Internet2 project, which will connect universities across the country.
