Short Take: Qwest looking to hook up with ISPs

Qwest Communications is looking to partner with or buy Internet service providers as part of its rapid expansion plan, chief executive Joe Nacchio said in an interview. In the future, Qwest also would consider partnering with cable television providers to help provide broadband services, Nacchio added. Qwest, which went public last year, is building a high-capacity, fiber-optic network to take on industry giants such as AT&T, MCI, and Sprint.
