Short Take: NTT extends offer for Verio

Japan's Nippon Telegraph and Telephone has extended its tender offer for Verio until midnight, Aug. 21. The tender was scheduled to expire yesterday, but was extended after NTT received a green light from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States on its acquisition plans. President Clinton has until Aug. 29 to approve or disapprove the acquisition, and NTT is expected to again extend its tender if approval hasn't been received by Aug. 21.
