Short Take: NightFire gets $30 million in funding

NightFire, a maker of software for high-speed Internet access providers, received $30 million in second-round funding from New Enterprise Associates, while first round investors U.S. Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital and The Roda Group also contributed. NightFire, which claims Covad Communications, Rhythms NetConnections, New Edge Networks and DSL.net among its customers, makes software aimed at easing the installation and activation of high-speed, or broadband, services.
