Short Take: Microsoft, SkyStream ink TV deal

Microsoft and SkyStream Networks, a satellite-based video and Web content distribution technology company, agreed to work together to deliver content to digital TV set-top boxes. Under the deal, SkyStream's zBand software will be integrated into the Microsoft TV platform. SkyStream's technology is intended to help allow Microsoft to offer streaming media, downloadable music and other high-bandwidth files.
