Short Take: MegaPath to buy Phoenix Networks

MegaPath Networks, a privately held Internet service provider and retailer of high-speed Net connections, has agreed to acquire Phoenix Networks, a similar private ISP and digital subscriber line (DSL) reseller. Terms of the all-stock transaction were not disclosed. Both MegaPath and Phoenix resell DSL connections from Rhythms NetConnections, NorthPoint Communications and New Edge Networks. The deal will give MegaPath more clout when dealing with these suppliers.
