Short Take: IVI takes leased access cause to FCC

Internet Ventures (IVI), an Internet service provider that offers both dial-up and high-speed cable-based Net access through several affiliates, has filed documents seeking a declaratory ruling by the Federal Communications Commission concerning whether ISPs have a right to "leased access" on cable television systems. Until now IVI has only sought to pay a cable operator for the use of its network, at the local franchise level in California, Washington, and Colorado.
