Short Take: Former Qwest executive joins VC ranks

Vab Goel, formerly a network engineer and executive for Qwest Communications International, has left the carrier to join venture capital firm Norwest Venture Partners as a partner. Goel, who last served as Qwest's vice president of emerging technologies, will work out of Norwest's Palo Alto, Calif. office. Goel will focus his investments on Internet, communications and networking start-up companies.
